Update on the events of Day 3
Today's meetings included Kristen Silverberg, Pat Cleary, Robert Mueller, Ambassador Levitte (of France), Patrick Kennedy, John Robinson and the President's newly appointed Chief of Staff Josh Bolten.
Among the notable quotables were:
- Steve calling Bolten "soft" - "in the best possible way, of course"
- Keith admitting his fondness for "long walks on the beach"
- Pete finally receiving the vindication he has been longing for that "it isn't really all of the press' fault" ...!
- Steve Chung: (in the middle of a conversation about the blossoming cherry blossoms) "Guys, if you want beauty, just take a picture of me!"
We ended the day with a tour of the West Wing (see photos below) and now, after 12 hours on the trot, we're putting our feet up and enjoying a meal at the famous Old Ebbitt Grill (or, as John would say, much to the confusion of the cab driver, "the Old Rabbit").
Before we sign off, here's a shout out to the birthday boy Zahaan "Pyro" Bharmal who is celebrating his golden birthday this evening.
Written by Najla ...!
Josh Bolten (new Whitehouse Chief of Staff) "confronts" Captain Gavin Woody, while our admiring team looks on ...
A group of us outside the White House seal, on a very cool West Wing tour ...
In the White House press room ... President Nita gives her first speech!?(or does she have her hands up, being targetted by secret service?!)
Zach in the lobby of the French embassy. He blends right in?!
