The Jefferson Memorial from 4 different angles ...

I LOVE these huge memorials in Washington (or, as Peter Kahng keeps disturbingly saying, "hey guys, there are so many 'edifices' around here" - leading some of us to think he has some kind of Edifice Complex?!). And, seeing it's the start of the Cherry Blosom festival, the Jefferson Memorial now becomes a focus - with the lake it is on surrounded by these beautiful blossoms.

Here it is from the inside - with a large statue, and some of his best speeches etched on the walls ...

Here it is from across the lake - watch for the cherry blossoms in the foreground! (the big stage in the way is where the special performances are happening, because of the festival)

Here's someone on the banks of the lakeshore trying to capture it ...

Out of the way, kiddo! =)
